Fair Use Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026. hootform includes unlimited forms and responses under this fair use policy. Most teams will never come close to these guidelines, and occasional spikes are okay.

Our Approach

We want pricing to stay simple, so normal usage is not metered day to day. Fair use protects the service from sustained high-volume workloads, abusive behavior, or usage patterns that put unusual pressure on infrastructure or AI processing.

Examples Of Heavy Usage

We may contact you about a custom plan if a workspace consistently reaches levels such as:

• More than 50,000 responses per month for multiple months.
• More than 100 GB of file uploads per month or 500 GB of total stored uploads.
• More than 50,000 email notifications per month.
• Unusually high AI probing or generation volume that materially affects platform costs.

What Happens Next

If your usage grows beyond fair use, we will contact you before making changes to your account. We will review your usage, discuss a custom plan, and give you reasonable time to decide what works for your team.

Abuse

Fair use does not allow spam, phishing, unlawful collection, attempts to bypass product limits, reselling access outside your organization, or activity that harms hootform or other users. We may suspend forms, workspaces, or accounts that create legal, security, payment, or platform risk.
