Why these questions

A quiz people finish is short, a little competitive, and tells them how they did the moment they finish. This template is five general knowledge questions, but the shape suits a classroom test, a pub quiz, a training check or a quiz on your own product.

It asks about a capital city, a planet, a shape, a painting and a chemical symbol, one question at a time, each with four choices. The last question has a tooltip beside its title, for anyone who's forgotten what a chemical symbol is.

Every question gives a point for the right answer, through scores and calculations. Nothing is worked out by hand and nothing is stored mid-quiz: the score follows the answers, so going back and changing one changes the score with it.

The result screen depends on the score. Five out of five gets an ending of its own, three or four gets "Nicely done", and anything lower gets a friendly nudge to try again. Each ending shows the score with {{var:score}}, so people see their number before they leave.

To make it yours: rewrite the questions, choose the right answer in each question's calculation, and change the bands on the last question's logic if your quiz is longer than five questions.

How the logic works

Each rule is checked once its question is answered, and the first one that matches decides where the respondent goes next. How logic works

  • After “What's the chemical symbol for gold?”: if the score is 5 or more, finish on the “5 out of 5. A perfect score.” ending.
  • After “What's the chemical symbol for gold?”: if the score is 3 or more, finish on the “You scored {{var:score}} out of 5. Nicely done.” ending.

Questions people ask

How do I mark which answer is right?

Open a question's Scores and calculations section. The calculation there adds 1 to score only when the right choice is picked. Pick a different choice to change the right answer.

Can a question be worth more than one point?

Yes. Change the calculation's amount to 2, 5 or anything else, and the bands on the last question to match the new top score.

Can I see everyone's scores?

Yes. Every response keeps its score, in the responses table, the CSV export, Google Sheets and webhooks. On Premium, Insights also shows the average, lowest and highest score.

Can people see which answers they got wrong?

Not question by question. The ending shows the total. To explain an answer, add a statement after its question, or link to a page with the answers from the ending.
