Why these questions
An event registration form needs to answer two questions for you: who's coming, and what you need to prepare for them. This template does both in six questions, and it takes about a minute to fill in.
It asks for a name and an email for the confirmation, then how many seats, including their own, capped at five so one person can't book a block. Which parts of the day they'll join is a pick-any list: a morning keynote, afternoon workshops, a closing panel and an evening social. That gives you a headcount per session rather than one number for the whole day. Dietary requirements are pick-any too, with "Other" for anything the list misses, because a caterer needs counts, not a paragraph. A consent checkbox asks whether they'd like to hear about the next event, and records the exact wording they agreed to.
Capping attendance: set a response limit when you publish, and the form closes itself once that many people have registered. See close conditions. You can also close it on a date, such as the day before the event.
Confirmations: the ending tells people they're on the list. To email them automatically, send each response to your email tool with a webhook.
To make it yours: put the date, time and venue on the welcome screen (the template leaves a note there for you), rename the sessions, and add a picture of the venue in design.

Questions people ask
Can I limit the number of registrations?
Yes. Set a response limit and the form stops accepting registrations once it's reached. Note that the limit counts responses, not seats, so set it with your average party size in mind.
Can I charge for tickets?
Not yet. hootform doesn't take payments today, so this template suits free events, or paid ones where you invoice separately.
How do I send attendees a confirmation email?
The form's ending confirms on screen. For an email, connect a webhook to your email tool, or use notifications to alert your own team about each registration.
Can I see how many people chose each session?
Every plan has the response table and a CSV export, which you can count by session. On Premium, Insights shows the count for each session directly.
