Responses
Insights
Views, starts, completion rate and time to finish for every form, plus drop-off and answer breakdowns per question on Premium.
Open a form's Responses tab and switch to Insights. It's worked out from your responses each time you open it, so it's always up to date.
The headline numbers
Available on every plan:
| Number | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Views | Opens of the form page. Every load counts, so one person opening the link twice counts twice. |
| Starts | Responses where someone answered at least one question, with the share of views that became a start. |
| Completions | Responses that reached an ending, with the completion rate: completions as a share of starts. |
| Median time to complete | From the first answer to submitting, for completed responses. The median, so one person who left the tab open overnight doesn't skew it. |
Views are counted when the form page actually loads for a respondent, so a closed form, or a password page someone didn't get past, doesn't count as a view.
Question by question
Each question gets a card, in the form's own order, with how many people answered it, and:
- Drop-off: how many partial responses stopped here. A question where many people stop is usually too hard, too personal, or unclear. On a one-page form, a response stops at the first question on its path left unanswered.
- Choices, Yes / No, dropdowns, ratings and scales: a bar per option with its count and percentage, in the question's own order rather than sorted, so a rating's bars read like a scale.
- Numbers, ratings and scales: the Average, Lowest and Highest answer.
- Rankings: each choice's average position, listed best first.
- Matrices: a grid showing, for each row, how many people picked each column.
Breakdowns only include completed responses, so a half-finished response doesn't tip the numbers.
Free-text answers, email addresses, dates, files and other identifying answers aren't summarized here. Read them in the responses table, or ask AI insights to find the themes in free text. A Number marked as Personal data is encrypted and left out of Insights too.
Date range
Choose Date range to narrow Insights to Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or a Custom range. Days are whole days in UTC.
Responses are counted on the day they were started, so starts, completions, drop-off and answers all describe the same group of people. That's why a completion rate can never go over 100%, even when someone starts on Monday and finishes on Tuesday.
