Plans and billing

hootform has two plans, and both include unlimited forms and unlimited responses. A plan is bought for a whole organization, not per person or per response.

Free

Free forever, with no card needed:

• All 24 question types
• Forms written in any of 28 languages
• Logic, answer recall, hidden fields, several endings and redirects
• Scores and calculations for quizzes, lead scoring and totals
• Per-form design, pictures and videos, a welcome screen, and templates
• File uploads and signatures up to 10 MB per file
• Encryption at rest for identifying answers
• Google Sheets, webhooks and email notifications
• Password protection and close conditions
• Editing together safely, and discarding unpublished changes
• Up to 3 footer links, such as your privacy policy and terms
• The responses table, CSV export, PDFs of single responses and duplicate detection

Premium: $19 a month

Everything in Free, plus:

• Unlimited people in the organization
• Build a form with AI, including scored quizzes and follow-ups
• Follow-up questions when an answer is vague, or on a condition you set
• AI insights on your latest 50 responses, and summaries of single responses
• Reading partial responses
• Insights in depth: drop-off, answer breakdowns, averages and date ranges
• No Powered by hootform badge, and your own wordmark or logo
• Custom search and link previews, or hiding a form from search
• Up to 10 footer links on a form
• Forms in several languages, translated by you or with AI
• Version history: open and restore any earlier version of a form

Nothing is locked while you build

Every Premium feature can be set up on the free plan, and a free organization can publish and collect with it. The Premium part only takes effect when a respondent opens the form: the badge shows, follow-ups aren't asked, and so on.

So when you upgrade, everything you'd set up lights up straight away, with no need to republish. And if a subscription ends, forms keep working; they just lose the Premium touches.

Upgrading

Organization owners and admins upgrade from Organization settings → Billing with Upgrade for $19 a month. Payment is handled by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record: it charges your card, and handles invoices and sales tax.

Premium switches on as soon as the payment is confirmed. If it hasn't after a minute or two, choose Refresh payment status on the billing page.

Managing and cancelling

Manage billing opens the payment provider's portal, where you can update your card, download invoices or cancel.

When you cancel, Premium stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then the organization goes back to the free plan. Nothing is deleted: forms, responses and settings are kept, and Premium features switch back on if you subscribe again.

If a payment fails, the billing page says so. Update the card in Manage billing to keep Premium on.

Billing is monthly; there's no yearly plan.
