Question types
Date
A calendar day, such as a birthday, a start date or an event day, optionally between two dates.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Earliest | The first day that can be picked, if any. |
| Latest | The last day that can be picked, if any. It must be on or after the earliest. |
Both limits include the day itself. Use them for things like "a delivery date in the next month" or "a date of birth before 2008".
What respondents see
Their device's own date picker, in their own language and date format. Days outside your limits can't be picked, and a typed date outside them gets a message saying which days are allowed.
The answer
Stored as YYYY-MM-DD, such as 2026-09-24, whatever format the respondent's device showed. There's no time and no time zone: it's the calendar day they picked.
- CSV, emails and webhooks:
2026-09-24. Spreadsheets recognize this format as a date. - Encryption: always encrypted when the form is, since dates like birthdays can identify someone, and never sent to an AI model.
In logic
is, is not, is before, is after, is answered, is not answered. For example: date is before 2026-12-01 → the early-bird question.
