Question types

Rating

A score from 1 up to between 3 and 10, answered with one tap and averaged in Insights.

"How would you rate the event?", out of 5 or out of 10. For a scale with words at each end, or one that starts at 0, use Scale.

Settings

Setting What it does
Scale How many points, from 1 to 3 up to 1 to 10. The rating always starts at 1; 1 to 5 is the default.

What respondents see

A row of numbered cells from 1 to the top of the rating. They tap one, or press its number key, and the form moves on by itself a moment later.

The answer

Stored as the number picked.

  • CSV, emails and webhooks: the number, such as 4.
  • Insights (Premium): the Average ("Average 4.2 out of 5"), Lowest and Highest, and a bar per point.

Ratings aren't encrypted, so they can be counted and averaged.

In logic

is, is not, is less than, is greater than, is answered, is not answered. For example: rating is less than 3 → go to "What went wrong?".

Dig deeper

Rather than adding a "What went wrong?" question to everyone's path, turn on a follow-up for low ratings: only unhappy respondents are asked, and the form stays short for everyone else.
