Sharing
Search and link previews Premium
Choose how a form appears in search results and when its link is shared, or keep it out of search engines.
When you paste a form's link into a chat, an email or social media, the app shows a preview card; search engines show a title and description too. Both come from the form's SEO settings.
Settings
Open Settings → SEO in the form.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Page title | The title in search results, browser tabs and link previews. Leave blank to use the form title. |
| Description | The line under the title in search results and previews. Leave blank to leave it out. |
| Hide from search engines | Asks search engines not to list the form. People with the link can still open it. |
Search result preview shows roughly how the form would appear in a search result as you type, including what a free plan would show instead.
These settings are published with the form, so choose Publish changes for new values to take effect.
Things to know
- Password-protected forms are always hidden from search engines.
- hootform never lists your forms anywhere itself. A form only shows up in search if a search engine finds a link to it somewhere public, such as your website.
- The page title is also what a respondent's browser shows in its tab.
