Why these questions
A waitlist is your first customer research, as long as you ask for a little more than an email. This template asks for the email first, so even someone who stops there is on the list, then learns what you'll need to decide who to invite first.
Where should we send your invite? comes first and is the only required contact detail. Every answer is saved as it's given, so a sign-up that stops here still counts. Then an optional name.
What would you use it for first? is the question that matters. It tells you which use case to build for and who to let in early. On Premium, a vague answer gets one follow-up, guided to ask for the first thing they'd actually try.
What do you use for that today? (a spreadsheet, another tool, something in-house, or nothing yet) tells you what you're really competing with. How much would this change your week?, on a five-point scale from "nice to have" to "can't wait", lets you invite the most eager first.
A consent checkbox asks who'll try rough early builds and say what breaks. Those are your beta testers, and the checkbox records what they agreed to.
Referrals: the template records ref and utm_source as hidden fields.
Give each early fan a link with their own ref, and the export shows who brought in whom.
Design: the template is dark with pill-shaped buttons and centred text, a launch-page look. Change it to your brand in design, and embed it on your landing page.

Questions people ask
Does someone need to finish the whole form to join the waitlist?
Their email is saved as soon as they answer the first question. On Premium you can read these partial responses, so nobody who started is lost.
How do I run a referral waitlist?
Give each person a link with ?ref= and their own code. The template stores ref with every
sign-up, so you can count referrals per person from the CSV export.
Can I invite people in order of eagerness?
Yes. Sort the export by the "How much would this change your week?" column, or read the use-case answers and pick the people you most want to build for.
Can I embed the waitlist on my landing page?
Yes. Embed it inline, or open it as a popup or slider from a "Join the waitlist" button.
